I think it is awesome that they are in another movie together; I think they have great chemistry.

    The Help (2011)
I didn’t really feel the need to see this movie, but after we saw Crazy, Stupid, Love last night, we decided to sneak into another movie, and this one just happened to be starting right then. And in the end, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. They story itself is very powerful and important, and that’s what makes it special. The cast was actually quite great. Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard all nailed their characters, even if some of them were slightly harder to play. However, my absolute favorite thing about this particular film was the costumes. I felt like each of the outfits that they characters wore were extremely accurate for the time-period, and they were styled beautifully. The execution of the costumes really made a clear distinction between the “whites” and the “blacks” at this point in history. My issue with this film wasn’t necessarily a technical problem, it was just the fact that it was a little too much like a “chick-flick”; but it was still enjoyable, so that wasn’t too big of a problem. I actually do recommend this film, it has an important story and a great cast.

    Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011)
Romantic comedies aren’t really my cup of tea, but with a cast like this it was hard to pass up this movie. Late last night, my best friend and I decided to go to the movies, and I immediately knew that this is what I wanted to see. At the beginning, I wasn’t really digging it because it just seemed like normal Steve Carell-type of humor, but as the movie progressed and the plot became more clear, it turned out to be a wonderful movie. My favorite part about it was Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s story-line; I thought they were absolutely adorable together. At first glance, I wouldn’t necessarily cast them together, but they actually had great chemistry together. Now the ending is what made this movie stand out for me. I won’t give it away, but it is sort of shocking and fun, and completely comes out of no where. What I like about this particular film is that it has the characteristics of a normal romantic comedy, but the directing and the acting sort of sets it apart from all the others. It’s a must-see, there’s no doubt about it.
